My research explores how water interacts with the environment, infrastructure, society, and public policy. To do this, I use a combination of field techniques (soil water content, stable isotopes), modeling techniques (optimization, hydrological models, time series analysis) and information technology. The results of my research range from detailed hillside scale models to the national assessment of water governance. There are two concepts that frame my research: the water-food-energy nexus and the hydro-social cycle. I have contributed to both concepts, following a multidisciplinary approach and adapting techniques from one discipline to another. In addition, I actively participate in forums and working groups as an expert on climate change, as part of high-level national committees and advising government agencies.
